Doctors appointments and vampires

Had my first prenatal visit today it went very well.Got to hear the babys heartbeat, and my estimate was just about right I predicted an EDD of Feb. 18 , midwife says Feb 16 . They are sending me for an ultrasound next Wed. due to some pre-existing uterine issues I have however all looks great! So after hearing the heartbeat and getting the dreaded internal exam done I am feeling much better. After my appointment it was off to see the vampires who withdrew 7 tubes of my blood...hmmm wow it sure does look like alot...dont I need that??LOL!!!!
Suring nursing school I took a particular interest in phlebotomy because, I always wondered why they had to poke and prod around in there once the blood starts pumping out. So the poor lab tech today seemed less then pkleased with all the questions I asked (how long have you been doing this?how often do you leave bruises?you do know how to find a vein dont you?)Ahhh well a nurse is not often a good patient.
In other news it was 102 degrees here today, yes 102!!!!Unbearable!!!!I love summer more then most people but not when its 102 and the humidity is 98%!!!Yuck!
So all is well in this corner of the world and this Friday it is off to Six Flags with the kids...yuck!I'd rather be hiking or backpacking somewhere but it is a big group thing and we will take our camping trip sometime in Aug. or Sept.
